WHO WE ARE
Willkommen zu Hause
Hello! We’re Michelle and Damon.
Brech Mountain House has been part of our family for three generations, and sharing it with guests has given this place an entirely new chapter. What began as a family home in the Hudson Valley has become a place where families, friends and travelers come together to slow down, explore, reconnect and make memories of their own.
Our family name, Brecheisen, is German, which is why Willkommen zu Hause - Welcome Home has always felt especially fitting here.
We love the history and character of this 100-year-old stone home and have worked to preserve what makes it special while creating a comfortable place for guests to settle in and truly enjoy their time away.
Whether you are escaping New York City for a weekend in the Shawangunks, visiting Minnewaska, Mohonk or New Paltz, exploring the Hudson Valley, or spending time with family while visiting the nearby Bethel facilities, we hope Brech Mountain House feels like a home away from home.

THE HOUSE
Set on 65 wooded acres in the foothills of the Shawangunk Mountains, Brech Mountain House offers the peace of the countryside with plenty of space to gather.
The four-bedroom home sleeps up to 12 guests and includes two dining areas, a spacious kitchen, comfortable gathering spaces, a hot tub and an XL game room with ping-pong, foosball and more.
Outside is where much of the character of Brech Mountain House comes alive. Enjoy sunrise views from the deck, gather around the firepit beneath the café lights, play volleyball or horseshoes, wander the property, or take a walk toward Beaver Creek.
Old oak, pine, apple, cherry and maple trees surround the house, and deer, hawks, wild turkeys and other wildlife are frequent visitors.
For those who want to explore, the house is well positioned for weekends spent hiking the Shawangunks, visiting Minnewaska and Mohonk, exploring New Paltz, touring wineries and orchards, or discovering the many small towns and experiences throughout the Hudson Valley.
Brech Mountain House is also approximately five minutes from Wallkill Bethel / Watchtower Farms, with convenient access for those visiting other regional Bethel facilities.
